Vectren Corporation Ceremony
Your Evansville Rescue Mission recently underwent an efficiency upgrade for four of our five operational divisions: our headquarters (500 East Walnut Street, Evansville, IN 47713) which houses our administrative offices and homeless service operations, our Youth Care Center and our two ERM Thrift Stores. The upgrade, performed by Vectren Corporation and Evansville’s Boyd Electric company was part of Vectren’s Small Business Energy Solutions program. More than 600 lighting fixtures throughout ERM’s headquarters were retrofitted with high efficiency bulbs–utilizing Vectren’s Conservation Small Business Energy Solutions (SBES).
By installing hundreds of high-efficiency bulbs throughout our ministry locations, your ERM will save literally thousands of dollars each and every year to more effectively and efficiently serve our community’s homeless and hurting. The following numbers reflect these measures.
1. Main Campus: Total Cost: $67,956; Discount: $30,373; Savings Per Year: $27,239
2. YCC: Total Cost: $25,938; Discount: $11,877; Savings Per Year: $11,686
3. Thrift Store – Washington: Total Cost: $6,574; Discount: $3,238; Savings Per Year: $1,164
4. Thrift Store – Oak Hill: Total Cost: $5,155; Discount: $2,476; Savings Per Year: $1,140
PROJECT TOTAL: $105,623; TOTAL DISCOUNT: $47,964; SAVINGS PER YEAR: $41,559
The payback on this project is a little under 1.5 years. In a VERY REAL way, Vectren is not only paying for $47,964 of this project, but they’re also, in essence, putting $41,559 back in our general fund each year to utilize for ministry as we save dollars on energy costs. If you couple this with the dollars we’re already saving because we’ve moved to INCREDIBLY more energy efficient HVAC system on our main campus, we’re literally saving tens of thousands of dollars each year compared to just a few years ago.
ERM would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to Vectren, a very real partner in helping us fulfill our mission each and every day.
